Pool & Electronic Darts at Mulligans Sports Bar
Two of the oldest pub games in the world, both done properly. Free walk-in pool, and electronic dart boards good enough to satisfy a regional league player.
“We’re not your average bar.”
Free Pool, No Booking, No Catch
The pool tables at Mulligans are free to play. Not a happy-hour promotion. Not a Monday-only thing. The standing offer, every day we’re open.
We made the call a while back that pool should be part of the room, not a transaction. Walk in, grab a drink, rack the balls, play. If a table’s free, it’s yours. If both are taken, leave your name with the bar and we’ll wave you over when one comes up.
Full-size tables sit in the main bar area, with cues, chalk, and the triangle kept on-site. No need to ask at the bar before you start.
Electronic Dart Boards
Target Omni electronic dart boards, set up properly. If you’ve played darts seriously, you’ll know Target is one of the names that actually matters in the sport. The Omni system is what proper venues run, not a cheap pub novelty.
Why does that matter? Electronic boards score for you and handle multi-player games without anyone fighting over a chalkboard. We’ve got all the standard game formats programmed in, so whatever your group wants to play, it’s ready to go.
Cost: $15 per board for 30 minutes. That’s the board, not per player, so a group of four costs the same as a couple playing one-on-one. Most people get plenty of games into a half-hour slot.
You can walk in and grab a board if one’s free, but on Friday and Saturday evenings we’d recommend booking. We’ve had groups arrive expecting darts and leave because all the boards were locked up for the night.
Pubs Should Have Pool Tables And Darts
There aren’t many places in the Whitsundays where you can show up, drink a cold beer, and play a proper game of pool or darts without paying for the privilege of either. We think there should be. Pubs used to be the place you played these games, and we’d rather keep that going than convert every inch of the floor into seated dining.
It also makes us a useful venue for the things pubs are good for. Catching up after work. A casual first date that needs something to take the pressure off. A stop on a longer night out. Pool and darts give people something to do beyond looking at each other across a table.
Plan Your Visit
We’re open from 10am every day. Sunday through Wednesday we close at 10pm; Thursday, Friday, and Saturday we run until 11pm. You’ll find us at 9/303 Shute Harbour Road, Airlie Beach.
Walk in for pool. Walk in or book ahead for darts. Either way, the cues and the boards are ready.
